In Bahia, 574 thousand professionals will need to undergo initial or refresher training to work in industrial companies by 2027. This is what the Industrial Work Map points out, a survey prepared by the National Industry Observatory (ONI) of the National Industry Confederation (CNI ), which subsidizes the supply planning actions of the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai). The areas with the greatest demand for professionals will be Logistics and Transport (129 thousand), Construction (92 thousand) and Maintenance and Repair (43 thousand).
The areas with the greatest need for initial training between 2025 and 2027 will be Construction (23.7 thousand), Logistics & Transport (18.7 thousand), Maintenance & Repair (7.8 thousand), Industrial Operation (5.7), Metal mechanics (5.4 thousand). With regard to training and development, the greatest demand comes from the segments of Logistics & Transport (110.5 thousand), Construction (69.1 thousand), Maintenance and Repair (35.5 thousand), Industrial Operation (35 thousand ) and Food and Beverages (29 thousand).
Patrícia Evangelista, executive superintendent of Professional Education at Senai Bahia, states that the Logistics and Transport area will be the one that will require the most human capital as it is a segment that is essential to all sectors. “If I talk about a chemical, petrochemical, food, civil construction, plastics industry, they will all need transport logistics. We are talking about production control, warehouse staff and warehouses that serve different segments”, he highlights.
Economist and financial educator Edisio Freire, in turn, sees the Logistics and Transport area as one with great job potential due to the period of rapid growth. “It is an area that plays an important role in making goods reach our homes. Today, we can buy a product on e-commerce and, often, it arrives on the same day. This is a reflection of the distribution center growing, perhaps that is why there is such a demand for professionals in the sector”, he points out.
The two experts agree that the other areas are complementary and practically inherent to industrial activities, so that the need for qualified labor ends up being a mirror of the industry’s own growth. “These are areas that, as there is demand for certain services or products, the industry will inevitably need to activate it to produce more”, concludes Edisio Frieire.
