About Santo Antônio Além do Carmo
Santo Antônio Além do Carmo is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Salvador and is located in the city’s Historic Center, which is listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan). Santo Antônio, which has always been an eminently residential neighborhood, has been gaining movement in recent years worthy of a bohemian neighborhood. The old mansions with a splendid view of the Baía de Todos-os-Santos, which were once the homes of grandparents and great-grandparents, are now commercial establishments. There, it is possible to enjoy the typical cuisine and dishes that are part of the daily lives of Bahians, in addition to taking advantage of the cultural and artistic establishments that are located in the region.
