Wine Dez reaches its 4th edition in Salvador and debuts in Aracaju the following day

For the fourth consecutive year, businessman Marcos Gordilho (Casa Dez) and promoter Licia Fabio, will hold, next Friday (1), from 7pm to 9:30pm, at Shopping da Bahia, the 2024 edition of Wine Dez, considered the biggest wine fair in the North Northeast. In this fourth edition of the event, the duo brings together around 50 wineries from the most diverse origins for a super tasting, where all producers will be presenting their labels, totaling 200. Access to the event is free. To participate in the tasting it costs R$ 150, of which the customer will receive R$ 70 in cashback to use in Casa Dez stores. Based in Bahia for five years, Spanish writer Laura Tarragó won three international awards for her first novel, Sol Negro, released in her country and already translated into English, where it was titled The Ancient Whispers of the Skulls. The work, recently released in the United States, was the winner of the International Latino Book Awards (ILBA), one of the most important awards in the United States, in two categories: 1st Prize for Best Adventure Novel and 3rd place for Best Mystery Novel . Laura Tarragó has also just been awarded the 1st Promessa Prize from the Spanish publisher Caligrama in Seville, which recognizes new literary voices with great potential. The author says that, although Sol Negro has not yet been translated into “Brazilian Portuguese” (sic), her intention is to release it in Brazil. “I’m looking for a publisher,” he says.

The multi-instrumentalist from Bahia, creator of Quabales and member of the group STOMP (a musical that ran for over 25 years on Broadway and tours worldwide) is on a tour of Europe, accompanied by his sister, choreographer Rosangela Silvestre. Shopping Salvador is setting up an experience and entertainment space for the family in its Christmas project. Ice Cream Park will have a structure measuring more than two thousand square meters, with scenography designed by Bahian artist Pedro Caldas. The space, which will open on November 19th, will have new attractions and gastronomic operations, in addition to the Ice Bumper: the famous bumper cars, but in the ice version, which will be in the Northeast for the first time; as well as the largest skating rink in the country. The story of the founding of Ilê Aiyê, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is the subject of the documentary Ilê Aiyê: A Casa do Mundo which will air on TV Bahia this Friday (1), right after the Afternoon Session. The film, coordinated by Alexandre Lyrio and Ricardo Ishmael and written by Lyrio, is divided into five chapters and has sections narrated by actors Lázaro Ramos and Taís Araújo. The doc will be released tomorrow (30), in an exclusive session for guests at Cinemark in Salvador Shopping. In the film, Vovô do Ilê, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Mãe Hildelice and Daniela Mercury, among other characters, try to explain how Ilê’s drums became essential for the training of young people in the community, but also for directly influencing the emergence of samba -reggae and even axé music.

And preparations for the 15th anniversary party of the Alô Alô Bahia website are in full swing. Rafael Freitas and Victor Carvalho are going to great lengths to make this the party of the year. Scheduled for a thousand guests, the event, which will feature a show by Gilberto Gil, has already secured sponsorship from 50 brands, including Natura, whose vice-president, Agenor Leão, is from Bahia and has already confirmed his presence. Orlando Senna, one of the most important names in Latin American cinema, will participate in a series of special releases of his most recent feature film Far from Paradise. In Salvador, the releases will take place on November 6th, at Cine Glauber Rocha, and on November 9th, at MAM’s Saladearte Cinema, both with the presence of the Bahian filmmaker. From here, the film that made its career at festivals will reach theaters across the country. The work, which stars Emanuelle Araújo and Ícaro Bittencourt, was filmed in 2018 in Chapada Diamantina and Salvador. The script, inspired by the myth of Cain and Abel, tells the story of two brothers who come into conflict, against the backdrop of the agrarian issue.
