The security forces’ scheme for the second round of municipal elections this Sunday (27) in Camaçari, in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, will rely on the use of drones. The equipment will be used to monitor the city’s electoral zones and to prevent possible crimes committed in the largest voting locations.
The drones will be operated by professionals from the Intelligence Superintendence, the Military Police Air Group (Graer), in addition to the support of Federal Police devices.
The scheme in the second round will be reinforced by the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) with 1,463 military, civil and technical police officers, in addition to military firefighters, the SSP reported this Friday (25).
According to the SSP, professionals will work to guarantee the escort and guard of ballot boxes, patrolling electoral areas, intelligence actions to prevent the purchase of votes, illegal transport, irregular advertising, threats, among other types of crimes related to the election.
Camaçari is the only city in Bahia where there will be a second round in this year’s municipal elections. The decision for the city hall in two stages is unprecedented in the municipality.
