Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs lost much of his fortune after being arrested amid allegations of crimes including sex trafficking and racketeering. This Monday, the 28th, Forbes magazine pointed out that Sean Combs was almost a billionaire – with a fortune estimated at US$ 740 million (around R$ 4.2 billion, according to current exchange rates) in 2019. Now, the magazine estimates that the artist has US$400 million (about R$2.2 billion).

In 2022, the rapper was listed among the highest-paid artists of the year by Forbes – at the time, he had earned US$90 million (around R$513 million). He made his fortune mainly from profits from the record label Bad Boy Records, which he founded in 1993, which became, according to Rolling Stone, “one of the most influential hip-hop record labels of all time”.

Diddy is the target of more than 120 cases of sexual crimes and has been arrested since September. Combs has pleaded not guilty, and continues to deny all allegations. The rapper awaits trial, scheduled for May 5, 2025, in a detention center in New York. Bail was denied.

Since the moment he was arrested, new waves of lawsuits against the rapper have emerged. Earlier this month, it was announced that Diddy would have to deal with lawsuits from more than 120 accusers. Tony Buzbee, the victims’ lawyer, told the press that men and women have accused the musician of sexual crimes since 1991; some involve minors.

Shortly afterwards, on the 14th, six new accusations of abuse dating back to the mid-1990s came to light, including the alleged sexual abuse of a boy who was 16 years old at the time.

This Monday, a new case involving an alleged rape of a 10-year-old boy in 2005 was revealed. According to Deadline, Combs allegedly offered the boy a “spiked” soda and then abused him and threatened him and his family so that they wouldn’t say anything about the crime.
