Datafolha research on the electoral scenario of Belo Horizonte (MG) released this Saturday, 26th, the eve of the second round of the 2024 elections, points out that the current mayor of the city, Fuad Noman (PSD), has 53% of valid votes, while the deputy state Bruno Engler (PL) records 47%.
Valid votes are used by the Electoral Court to declare the person elected. The candidate who receives more than 50% of the valid votes wins the election.
In total votes, considering the stimulated scenario, Fuad has 48% and Engler, 42%. In the previous survey, the mayor registered 46% and the state deputy, 39%. There are 7% blank or null votes and 4% are undecided. In comparison with the previous round, Fuad increased by two points, within the margin of error, while Bruno Engler increased by three percentage points.
In the spontaneous survey, a modality in which voting options in the election are not presented to respondents, Fuad records 37% and Engler, 28%. The answer “no 22”, Engler’s ballot number, accounts for 6% of mentions, while mentions of “no 55”, Fuad’s number, account for 4%. The voting preference for “the current” president, without nominal reference to Fuad Noman, amounts to 2%. Spontaneously, 16% say they are undecided and 7% vote blank or null
Datafolha carried out 1,674 face-to-face interviews in the capital of Minas Gerais between October 25th and 26th. The margin of error is two percentage points, and the confidence level is 95%. Registration at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) follows protocol MG-01286/2024.
