Coach Arthur Elias promised to carry out more tests on the Brazilian women’s football team until the end of 2024, with an eye on renewing the team for the coming years, with a focus on the 2027 World Cup. The national team has four more games, all friendlies until the end of the year.

“In this call and in the next, the objective will be to observe more the players who may not have participated in my process with the selection, others who participated in a smaller volume and also to continue with the group that was successful in the Olympics. Always with great criteria, drafting call-up by call-up. We want to increase the range, bring experience to a larger group of players in the selection”, he stated.

In the current call-up, made this month, the coach called only 12 players who were in the Paris-2024 Olympic campaign. In total, he called up 26 athletes for the friendlies with Colombia, next Saturday, the 26th, and next Tuesday, the 29th, at the Kleber Andrade stadium, in Cariacica (ES).

Later this year, Arthur Elias will make another call-up, for the November friendlies. After that, the coach will finish testing and begin forming the team for the Copa América, in 2025.

“In the squads prior to the Copa América, when the focus is on winning the competition, we are preparing for the 2027 World Cup. We prepared very well for the Olympics, then we had a good result there. And now we will continue facing strong teams. This, without a doubt, will help us to continue evolving, growing and being stimulated at a level that we hope for the team to continue to be a protagonist in the main competitions.”
