At 66 years old, Madonna defies any ageist or sexist view and continues to be an important artist globally. Between 2023 and 2024, he carried out a successful world tour celebrating 40 years of career. The show, which ended the tour, held in Copacabana, on May 4th this year, brought together (according to the City of Rio de Janeiro) 1.6 million people. Globo announced this week that the broadcast of the show was the highest audience on open TV in the last 6 years. Few artists in the world of pop music can reach these milestones and continue to defy standards. Madonna was one of the artists who best used fashion to build her image, the famous partnership with Jean Paul Gaultier gave rise to a fashion icon: bras and corsets with cone-shaped cups.
The singer has always invested in lingerie pieces as a highlight in her looks. This is something that was improved in the 1990s, but since its appearance in the early 1980s it was already present. On September 21st of this year, the Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana presented a tribute show to her, during the spring/summer 2025 season of Milan Fashion Week. The designers, long-time collaborators, exalted on the catwalks the strength of the style of queen of pop playing with the sensual elements and the Catholic religion that are so much a part of her artistic aesthetic repertoire. We took our tour through Madonna’s history and recreated 3 looks from 3 different phases of the artist.

When Madonna appeared on the music scene in 1984, she still didn’t have the money or relevance to create an expensive costume, but she used her creativity, thrift store shopping and maximalism to impose a young fashion image full of crosses, lingerie and accessories. vintage overlays.

In the 1990s, she established herself as a great artist, got into controversy with the Catholic Church and shocked the world with her album Erotica and the book of sexual photographs Sex. She celebrates sexual freedom and has Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce & Gabbana, hence the looks with voluminous bras, tailoring and elements of sadomasochism with an ultra-glamorous treatment.

In the early 2000s, Madonna is married to English director Guy Ritchie, pregnant with her second child and has a cleaner image. When he released the album Music, in October 2000, his style references came from the North American country universe. It is from this period that we took inspiration for this third look.
