A campaign carried out by the Pedro Calmon Foundation (FPC) seeks to collect black dolls for children in socially vulnerable situations. Named ‘Where’s My Black Doll?’, the action runs until November 6th and aims to promote representation and strengthen the self-esteem of black boys and girls. The toys will be delivered on November 7th.
Anyone who wants to donate can go to one of the delivery points in Salvador and the interior (see below). A new position will be opened next Thursday (24) at the headquarters of the Secretariat for the Promotion of Equality and Traditional Peoples and Communities (Sepromi) located Av. Manoel Dias da Silva, nº 2177, in the Pituba neighborhood. The place is open from 8:30 am to 7 pm.
The project was created by the Juracy Magalhães Júnior Library, located in Itaparica, Metropolitan Region of Salvador and is in its second edition. Coordinated by FPC, the campaign seeks to give visibility to the importance of racial representation, in addition to strengthening bonds of solidarity and empathy in the community, teaching values of diversity and inclusion from childhood.
