Brazilian Juliana Peres Magalhães confessed, this Tuesday (29), that she was involved in a homicide inside a mansion in the United States, where she worked. She was the family’s nanny, had an affair with the owner of the house and helped to mourn the death of his wife in February 2023. The information is from g1.
Juliana was hired by the couple Brendan and Christine Banfield at the end of 2021 to look after the couple’s 4-year-old son. In 2022, Juliana and Brendan began having an affair. He then started to put together a plan to kill Christine and live with Juliana.
According to authorities, Brendan created a profile for Christine on a dating website and arranged a meeting with a man named Joe Ryan at the couple’s home.
Juliana posed as Christine in an audio conversation with Joe to lure the man to the couple’s home, where he was shot dead by Juliana and Brendan. Christine was stabbed to death by Brendan.
To cover up, Juliana and Brendan pretended to be victims and claimed that Joe had broken into the house armed and killed Christine. To defend themselves, the two shot him.
Investigators suspected that the version was false. In October 2023, Juliana and Brendan were arrested. Juliana and Brendan were already living together as a couple, they published photos together and a portrait of the two was also found on a bedroom dresser.

A report proved that Brendan rubbed Christine’s blood on Joe.
This Tuesday, Juliana pleaded guilty only to Joe’s death. She confessed that she participated in the plan that resulted in the two murders.
Due to the cooperation, Juliana’s lawyers believe that the Brazilian could be sentenced to a sentence equivalent to the time she has already spent in prison and should be released after the trial. Brendan’s defense said the evidence “simply doesn’t add up” that he killed his wife.
