The black box of the aircraft that crashed in São Paulo and killed five people was found on Thursday afternoon (24). The information was confirmed by the Fire Department. The recorders record data from the cockpit and will help investigate the cause of the plane crash.

The plane was the Embraer-121 Xingu model, manufactured in 1982 by Embraer. It was acquired by the Bahian company Abaeté Aviação in 2006 and, since then, it was used to provide air taxi services.

Everyone on board was Abaeté Aviação employees. They were commander Jefferson Rodrigues Ferreira, 36 years old, co-pilot Dulcival da Conceição Santos, 39, doctor Sylvia Rausch Barreto, 31, mechanic Joseilton Borges, 53, and nurse Erisson Silva da Conceição Cerqueira. All of them were from Bahia, except Dulcival, who was born in Sergipe, but lived in Salvador. In a statement, the company said it was welcoming the family and offering all necessary support.

According to the records, the air transport documentation was in order. The Airworthiness Verification Certificate (CVA) would expire on June 25, 2025 and the situation was considered normal. The fact that the aircraft was a twin-engine aircraft was another factor in favor of the vehicle’s safety, from the perspective of Raul Marinho, aviation specialist and technical director of the Brazilian General Aviation Association (Abag).
