Bookkeeper Rogério de Andrade will be transferred to federal prison, according to information from the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro. According to a court decision, he will wait in Bangu 1 (Rio’s maximum security prison) until the transfer is carried out. His defense was not located.

The action was conducted by the Specialized Action Group to Combat Organized Crime of the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro, with the support of the Security and Intelligence Coordination. An arrest warrant was also served against Gilmar Eneas Lisboa. The defense was also not located.

GAECO/MPRJ reported the two to court for the qualified homicide of Iggnácio. According to investigations, Andrade was the person who ordered the crime.

Andrade had already been charged with Iggnácio’s death in March 2021. However, in February 2022, the Second Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) decided to block the criminal action against the offender, citing a lack of evidence.

Through a new Criminal Investigative Procedure (PIC), the MP states that it identified not only successive executions led by the dispute between the offenders Iggnácio and Andrade, but the participation of another person in Iggnácio’s murder.

GAECO/MPRJ reported Andrade and Lisboa to court for the qualified murder of Iggnácio.

Iggnácio and Andrade are, respectively, son-in-law and nephew of Castor, who died of a massive heart attack in 1997.

At the time, Castor’s son, Paulinho, was appointed as the natural successor, but he was murdered about a year later. Andrade responded as having ordered the crime, but was acquitted.

Since the death of the famous criminal, his heirs have been fighting over control of the animal’s gambling points and slot machines in Rio.
