The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), said this Tuesday, 29, that the possibility of amnesty for people prosecuted on January 8th is not under discussion in the Senate.
The Chamber of Deputies is analyzing a proposal in this regard. The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), announced this Tuesday the creation of a special commission to analyze the proposal, which was on the agenda of the Constitution and Justice Commission this Tuesday. In practice, Lira delayed the processing of the proposal.
Asked about the discussion on this matter in the Chamber, Pacheco avoided commenting. He said it was a topic under debate among deputies.
“This is an issue that is in the Chamber, I respect initiatives there. There is not yet a Senate position formed on this, especially because we have not discussed this alternative”, he said in an interview with journalists during an event promoted by Lide in London.
