Actress and director Angela Bittencourt, better known as Anja Bittencourt, passed away at the age of 72, this Thursday (24), in Rio de Janeiro. The news was confirmed by actor Nizo Neto, who paid tribute to the artist on his social networks. The cause of Anja Bittencourt’s death was not disclosed, but the actress had recently shared some images on her Instagram of her hospitalized.
“Anja Bittencourt, dear, what sad news. A warrior, she fought as hard as she could for years. He directed, together with Claudia Rodrigues, my first solo, Fala Sozinho. An exemplary professional. Great actress, director, teacher and, above all, great colleague. Go with God, friend!” lamented Nizo.
With a long and renowned career, Anja participated in major soap operas such as “Rainha da Sucata” (1990), “O Clone” (2001), “Paraíso Tropical” (2007), “Passione” (2010), “A Regra do Jogo ” (2016), “Êta Mundo Bom!” (2016) and “Malhação: Toda Forma de Amar” (2019).
She also acted in successful series, such as “Sob Nova Direção” (2003), “A Diarista” (2005), “Carga Pesada” (2006) and “Toma Lá Dá Cá” (2009). His last appearance in TV Globo soap operas was a brief appearance in “Elas por Elas”, which ended in April this year.
