Aiming to help in this regard, Oliveira Silva recommends active reading techniques, such as underlining keywords and writing down the main ideas. “The practice of reading different genres, such as articles, stories and news, is essential to increase vocabulary and familiarity with the language. Summarizing the text and creating questions about it can help to establish understanding,” he says.
