Actress with several appearances in Globo soap operas on her CV, Anja Bittencourt died at the age of 72 on Thursday (24). The death was confirmed by the actor Nizo Netowho did not elaborate on the cause of death. The veteran had already published some photos on Instagram in which she appeared hospitalized, without revealing the reason for her hospitalization.
The son of Chico Anysio (1931-2012) mourned the actress’ death on Instagram through a brief tribute. “Anja Bittencourt, dear, what sad news. A warrior, she fought as hard as she could for years”, wrote Nizo Neto.

Born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Angela adopted the nickname Anja and built a prestigious career in front of and behind the camera.
Since 1990, she has appeared in soap operas such as Queen of Scrap (1990), Or Clone (2001), Tropical Paradise (2007), Pure Beauty (2008), Faces & Mouths (2009), Passione (2010), O Astro (2011), Êta Mundo Bom! (2016) and Workout: Every Way to Love (2019).
Other productions that Anja was part of were Foolish Heart (2011), Eternal Love Love (2012), The Seventh Guardian (2018), The Mechanism (2019), Secret Truths 2 (2021) and Beyond Illusion (2022).
She also played characters in prominent Globo series, such as Sob Nova Direção (2004-2007), The Diarist (2004-2007) and Heavy Cargo (2003-2007).
His most recent TV appearance was in the remake of They for Them (2023). The actress played a fan of the character Mário Fofoca (Lazaro Ramos), and appeared briefly in the plot of the serial that occupied the six o’clock slot.
