You Mania will pray a few rosaries to see if the audience rises a little in the next chapters. After all, Mercia (Adriana Esteves) –who is actually called Sônia– hid in a convent run with an iron fist by the real owner of her name, sister Mércia (Jussara Freire). The nun will be more like Valak from The Conjuring 2 (2016) than Sister Mary Clarence (Whoopi Goldberg) in Change of Habit (1996).
The former housekeeper is not the only one who has some well-kept secrets within the walls of the religious congregation. After all, Molina (Rodrigo Lombardi) also had a poor childhood among the children who were part of the charity before taking the money from Luma’s biological family (Agatha Moreira).
The expectation is that the arrival of sister Mércia will help to ward off the “astral hell” that the production has suffered since its debut. In seven weeks of exhibition, the story of Viola (Gabz) suffered nine defeats to plots from other times –like No Rancho Fundo and Volta por Cima. In other words, a God helps us.
If the almighty doesn’t listen to author João Emanuel Carneiro’s prayers to avoid being labeled the “worst novel of the nine in history”, the devil will do him a favor —and much greater than his services to the remake of Renascer (2024), in which he was only a supporting player.
After all, sister Mércia will show that she has the devil in her body by keeping Luma in private prison in one of the convent’s empty cells. And then, whatever God wants.

Fabiana in A Dona do Pedaço
Sister Fabiana
The Rebel Novice The Lady of the Piece (2019) used the slogan “I was raised in a convent” to hide her evil deeds. Fabiana (Nathalia Dill) did things that even God doubts — like stealing from Maria da Paz’s (Juliana Paes) factory — before ending up as a hired killer in Espírito Santo.

Sister Jude on AHS: Asylum
Sister Jude
The mother superior of the Briarcliff psychiatric hospital secured a nomination for Jessica Lange as best actress in a limited series at the 2013 Emmys. In addition to her sadistic behavior, she is still remembered for an unusual musical number that is still a meme on social media today — The Name Game.

Sister Selma at Terça Insana
Sister Selma
In one of the first viral videos on the Brazilian internet, sister Selma (Octávio Mendes) was forced to tell jokes in the show Terça Insana because there were already many singing nuns. She wrote down the names of spectators who didn’t laugh to pray for them — with pains that ranged from losing all their hair to swallowing a third of it.

Sister Death
Sister Death (Consuelo Trujillo) was so successful as the spiritual mentor of the protagonist of Verônica (2017), on Netflix, that she even won a spin-off named after her nickname. The prequel tells how the novice Narcisa (Aria Bedmar) blinded her own eyes in an eclipse to solve a crime that happened during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

Valak
Originally, Valak is one of the demons mentioned in a collection of writings attributed to King Solomon (960 BC-931 BC). The entity is mentioned as a boy with angel wings and riding a two-headed dragon, but became a demonic nun in the hands of director James Wan in The Conjuring 2. The devil in the form of a sister was so successful that he even won a solo film in 2018 — but the biggest terror is having to watch the feature.
